Albums I was listening to as we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel:

Navy Blue – Song Of Sage: Post Panic!: His style has a bit too much “dear diary” angst for me, but if you can rap competently over great production, I’m there for it.
Sault – Untitled (Rise): Their previous, Untitled (Black Is), was maybe my favorite album from 2020, so I was shocked to learn they released a follow-up that I had missed. It is also excellent.
Bad Boy Chiller Crew – Full Wack No Brakes: Something I should hate on paper: some white dudes from a suburb of Leeds, rapping over early 2000s house beats. But fuck it, it’s fun, and I’m too old to pretend I’m cool. Put it on next time you go for a run.
Madlib – Sound Ancestors: If you’re going to listen to an instrumental hip-hop album, might as well be one from one of the all-time greats.
